I'm afraid the premise didn't work for me at all. the idea that a two-sentence plea from a prisoner could turn around the policy of an established dystopian society, is not going to be believable. Apart frpm the story, the unwittingly funny syntax is going to be a distraction for any reader: "Zak is laid next to his boyfriend Toby" That must have annoyed Toby...
