I like this one. I think it's well written, pacey, and gets a lot done in a short amount of time. I wouldn't have been surprised to see this one on the longlist at least.

Excellent. I loved that. Is it meant to be silent? At any rate, I thought it was terrific.

Thanks so much for your feedback, guys. Steven, I'd always envisioned it silent myself, but I think it could be done with a certain amount of ambient sound, too. I went back and forth on the title cards because I didn't want it to come across as too cutesy, but in the end I liked the "old-time" feel it evoked in my mind at least. I'm looking forward to digging into these Near-Kisses scripts this weekend (once I survive my sister's wedding tonight)!

Just wanted to say that I really liked it, especially the fast pace of it and the imagery, fighting through all those in love couples.

Really liked this script, the pace, the imagery, well done.

I adore this imagery, Ditty! Especially the magic moment when she finally runs into the Man In The White Suit. Loving Love itself...
I did have to re-read the last paragraph on the first page-- for whatever reason, it didn't seem to flow as smoothly as the rest. [For me.] That was my only hang up, though. :)
Think you'll make this one into a short film? I'd make a point to come see it. :D

Nice story Elizabeth, shame it didn't make it.

Thanks, everyone! Meg, I'd love to see this made into a short film at some point, but I'm not currently equipped to do it myself. Plus I should probably finish post on last summer's endeavour first, eh? ;-)

Hi Elizabeth, Thank you for your kind comments on my also "Near Kisses" script "Tomorrow is Saint Valentine's Day". I then realised yours was on the same page and I could read that - a bit late in the day I'm afraid. It's really sweet and could be very touching- also very visual and cinematic and could easily be shot in a day. Like you, I'm disappointed mine didn't even make it to the long list. The ones that get through to the final fifty had better be mini masterpieces! I won't be making mine though now. The point of entering was to get my lovely actors into a distributed film. But as I have other films out there already and three five minuters still to edit, I'll get them in front of the public another way! Good luck with your film making. Yes - get the post finished on "last summer's endeavour". Can't leave it pining away in the dark.
