Draft One Producers Development Notes for the author

1. We liked this script, thought the idea was original and that it would present a challenge for a filmmaker to make. However, keep in mind that a filmmaker might need to scale down the location from a supermarket to a corner shop, depending on what they can get hold of. Would the story still work?

Different. Definiely cute. And cleverly written. It works. Good this one made the cut in the end!

Took me a while to catch on what was going on, but that was probably me being dense to be honest. Particularly this line "Light seeps into SCANNER - so much more than a mere reader
of bar-codes". I got Scanner was one of the Barcode scanners but I originally thought it was so much more light than usual seeping into a barcode reader. Maybe cut the so much more than a mere reader part as that is shown throughout the rest of the script. But as I say that may just be me not being very sharp tonight.

I love the idea and execution though of a love triagle between a scanner, a girl and a guy. I also got a suggestion at the end that Mike had programmed the scanner to woo Tina for him but the sentient feelings of Scanner were an unseen byproduct. That's what I got from Mike's wink anyway.
